PELL CITY - Mr. Ervin Barber, 84, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his home in Pell City, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Jeffrey Barber; and siblings Joybell (Wayne); Mildred; Marie, and Dewey (Alice).
Mr. Barber leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce (Partridge) Barber; his daughter, Catherine Barber (Carolyn); his granddaughter, Kimberly Martinez (Andres); great-grandchildren, Marlene, AJ and Sophia; siblings, Roland (Eloise), Earleen (Clifford), Melvin (Sue), Betty (Carl), and many close friends.
He was born and raised in Pell City, the son of Andy Barber and Lilar (Hopper) Barber. The third of nine children, he met his wife in Pell City and they were married on December 4, 1959.
They relocated to Royal Oak, Michigan in 1967. Mr. Barber was a talented carpenter and mechanic. Over the years he worked at carpentry, construction, steel and finally burial vaults until he retired to Pell City in 1993.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, April 4, 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. Interment followed at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
