Services for Floyd F. “Pee Wee” Macon, age 71, of Cropwell, Alabama were held Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City with Bro. Ted St. John and Bro. David Roberts officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. “Pee Wee” passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Duffy Macon and Rebecca Goodgame Macon; sister, Minnie Lou Perkins; brothers, Jack Macon and Buck Macon. Mr. Macon is survived by his wife, Betty Neighbors Macon; sister, Sarah Leona Walker; and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. “Pee Wee” was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.  At the age of 12, he was employed at the Old Pell City Cafe as a dishwasher. He also ran the Wagon Wheel Restaurant which was located on Hwy 231 South for several years.  Then, he later worked for Solomon Pants Factory in Leeds.  Years later he started his own business, Floyd F. Macon Used Cars, Parts and Wrecker Service which he ran for 48 years.  Mr. Macon was a member of the Alabama Towing & Wrecker Service Association and was a volunteer for the New London Water & Fire Department.  “Pee Wee” was awarded a plaque for his outstanding community service.
