TALLADEGA - Mr. Philip Ray Jenkins, Sr., age 63, of Talladega, AL passed away on April 16, 2018 in Chilton County.
He was a native of Talladega County, a graduate of Winterboro High School and Gadsden State Community College. Mr. Jenkins was a paramedic for 22 years, former chief of the Winterboro Volunteer Fire Department, a member of Winterboro Baptist Church, and a retired medical dispatcher at Talladega Superspeedway for 30 plus years.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya Harmon Jenkins; two daughters, Brandy (Terry) St. Germain and Shana (Josh) Shell; one son, Rev. Philip Ray Jenkins, Jr.; mother, Murl Bolton Jenkins; sister, Cheryl Snider; five grandchildren, Dylan Shell, Juliana Shell, DeKana St. Germain, Jade Shell, and Trance St. Germain; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Care Ambulance Personnel.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 20, 2018, at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel - Talladega, 2 p.m. Visitation will be held today, April 19, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
