Services for Robert Lyle Fundaburk, age 69, of Anniston, Alabama, were held Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Buddy Nelson officiating. Mr. Fundaburk passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at UAB Hospital due to complications from diabetes. Interment was in Forestlawn Gardens. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Evelyn Fundaburk. Mr. Fundaburk is survived by his son David Fundaburk, and David’s fiance’, Joyce Gann, of Anniston, Alabama; daughter, Lyla Argo, and her husband Phillip Argo; twin grandsons Brady and Brody Argo, all of Moody, Alabama. Mr. Fundaburk was born July 29, 1940 in Anniston, Alabama. He was a graduate of Anniston High School, class of 1958, and a true sports fanatic. Lyle impacted the lives of several Alabama youth during his time as a coach and an educator at various Birmingham City schools. Others knew him through his 40 year career as a ticket broker in the Birmingham area, where he was instrumental in getting licensure laws passed for the profession in the State of Alabama. He was a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan, but followed all SEC teams. Most importantly, he will be forever remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and loyal friend. Gray-Brown Service Mortuary and Crematory directed the services.
