Moody, Alabama - Gene Gordon White was born on February 19th, 1929, to George and Zula White in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He had six siblings. Gene married Willie Bell Rice. They had two children, Sherry Diane and James Larry. After high school, he joined the Air Force. He served during the Korean War, Vietnam, and Libya. He received the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. After he retired, he worked at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He served in medical administration until his retirement. When he became bored with retirement, he started his favorite job, working at the Adesa car auction in Moody. Gene loved working in his yard, watching Alabama football, and spending time with his family. Gene was loved by many. Gene attended Park Avenue Baptist in Moody.
