ODENVILLE, al - Norma Jean Stewart was born Norma Jean Bennett on September 15, 1938 in Altus, Oklahoma where she met her children's father, Lester Hughes, who preceded her in death.
She passed away on July 29, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Bennett; her brother, Jimmy Bennett; and her parents, Robert and Goldie Bennett.
She is survived by her children, Leslie Hughes (Jackie Keller) and Cynthia Morgan; grandchildren, Brandi Phelps (Shaun Peterson), Joshua Newton (Julie), Shea Isbell (Daniel) and Kristena Morgan Cooper (Thomas); 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one on the way; her sister, Jan Fisher; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
There will be no funeral services, rather a "Celebration of Life" ceremony on Sept. 13, 2025 at her home in Odenville, Alabama.
